The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) conference is currently taking place in New Orleans. This exceptional conference offers agents infinite opportunities about real estate marketing in the upcoming year. There are many education sessions on topics ranging from “green”, legal matters, social media, professional & personal growth, marketing suggestions and more! Throughout the conference we will be posting information we’ve learned at NAR on our blog and today’s spotlight is mobile marketing in the real estate industry.
Today there was one education session that spoke to the validity of mobile marketing in the real estate industry and that was Connecting with Consumers through Mobile Technologies with Todd Carpenter, Rudy Bachraty, Eric Blumberg, Max Pigman and Randall Standard. This informative session gave weight to the mobile technology landscape and how real estate professionals should use it in order to foster connections with consumers. According to a comScore report for September, 234 million Americans ages 13 and older use mobile devices with 58.7 million people in the U.S. owning smartphones. What are they doing with those phones? About 67 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers used text messaging on their mobile device, while browsers were used by 35.1 percent of U.S. mobile subscribers. Subscribers who used downloaded applications comprised 33.1 percent of the mobile audience, representing an increase of 2.5 percentage points. So like the presenters in today’s session stated, mobile technologies are changing fast and real estate professionals need to learn that these tools can impact a business’ bottom line!
So what are some mobile marketing ideas can you implement into your marketing strategy? According to the Real Estate Marketing Blog, the first tactic would be to allow home buyers to access property information by SMS. This allows them to quickly get property information on a home without having to call or email anyone; therefore, saving you valuable time by pre-qualifying prospects. Another tactic to implement into your mobile marketing plan would be to syndicate your listings to top real estate sites. If you do not have the luxury, or money, to get your own mobile website for your real estate business, then a simple and effective option is to make sure that your listings are included in the top real estate websites such as Homes.com. Learn what mobile initiatives are going on at Homes.com and see how we put mobile marketing to work for you!
