Forty-two percent of home buyers start their search process online and take on average two weeks before contacting a real estate agent. During that time they are not only looking at pretty pictures of houses, but also getting a feel for which agent they want to work with. According to an April 2014 Google Consumer Survey two thirds of those buyers are “researching prospective agents extensively”.
What are those buyers finding out about you online?
Well if you are reading this on a computer right now then you probably know about Google, Yahoo, and Bing. You may even ‘Google’ your name every once in a while to see what comes up, but that is not enough any more. Have you checked Yelp, CitySearch, or SuperPages? There are over 20 widely used online listing and review sites that may have never heard about you or worse, they may be reporting incorrect information about your business to potential clients. It can be a daunting task to even find let alone verify your professional listing on 20 plus websites, but the good news is that you can get registered and monitor any activity on all of these sites right from your Homes Connect Dashboard!”
The Reputation Manager app organizes all of these registries into a simple to use tool. Getting started is easy. Once you are logged into Homes Connect click on the Reputation Manager app in the Homes.com Social section. This app will organize all the pieces of your online reputation including search engines, review sites, directory sites, and social sites all in one place for you to control.
If this is your first time using the Reputation Manager app you will need to go to the ‘Visibility’ tab and click on the ‘Edit Visibility Settings” button. On that page you will be able to select which of the 21 websites you would like to manage using the app. Once you have checked all the boxes you will be able to systematically verify and then monitor all of those sites from this one app.
Each website listing is set up in the app with direct links and simple instructions for you to verify or create your business listing on each of the sites.
Once you have completed the verification process on each of those websites you will be able to rest easy knowing that no matter how extensively buyers and sellers are researching you online you know exactly what they are finding out about you.
