The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) conference is taking place this weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is four days of endless opportunities to learn how to navigate the real estate market in the upcoming year. Featured at this event are many education sessions covering tools that agents can use to help market their properties and themselves; tools such as social media, mobile marketing and blogging. Throughout the conference we will be posting information we’ve learned at NAR on our blog. So keep coming back!
Social Media for Real Estate
Many education sessions, including Ginger Wilcox Social Media 101 and 102, focus on the benefits of utilizing social media for your business. We learned how social networks are like online relationship farms where you can develop a community of people who know you, like you, and trust you. In addition, we also learned from Chris Smith & Stephen Pacinelli’s session Your Online Reputation — What Goes on Facebook Stays on Facebook! that search engines and social media have brought transparency to real estate. Not only can you harness the power of social media for your business, but you need to be cautious of what you say online.
